This was the elegant sports car that set Williams
Lyons` Swallow Sidecar company on the road to the
world famous marque it is now , adopting the Jaguar
name after WW2. The SS100 made its debut at the
Spa 24-hour race in June 1936 and thereafter ran 3
cars at the Brooklands 3-Hours ( 1938 ) and were very succesful at Donington , winning 7 handicap races
there before production was stopped to the outbreak
of war. Mostly raced in production form with fenders
and lights but a few stripped down racers , such as
Goldmans raced also. Rally and hilclimb history too.
The car on left won its handicap race at Donington
at the AMOC meet , July 2012 with supercharger
and still in hillclimb , 6-wheel-mode.
