 Raced in Japan GT500 Class 2006-11

 12 outright wins + 2 sprint races

 Engine : Toyota V8 4480 cc

 Power : restricted to 500 BHP

 Toyota`s luxury brand Lexus entered GT racing

 in 2006 in the Japan GT500 class. Team Toms

 winning on the cars debut at Suzuka and its

 drivers Wakisaka and Lotterer going onto win

 the Championship. Cars from 3 other teams

 also raced Team Ceruno ( Takikawa / Takagi )

 and Team Kraft ( Hattori/Dumbreck ) also won

 1 round each plus Team LeMans ( Iida /

 Kataoka ). Team Tsuchiya and Team Sard

 made in 6 cars for 2007 , Toms winning the

 Suzuka 1000 and Cerumo 1 race. 2008 only

 Cerumo won a race. 2009 Cerumo , Kraft and

 Toms won 1 apiece. The latter two also

 winning 1 apeice in 2010 and in 2011 its final

 season, there were still 6 teams and Cerumos

 win made it a dozen championship wins in total.

 Under the banner of Gazoo Racing a pair of

 LFA Racers appeared at the Nurburgring 24

 Hours race in 2011 driven by Toyotas

 top Japan GT men . The Iida/Ishiura/Oshima

 car finished 41st out of the 200-odd cars in

 this huge race. The Kinoshita/Lotterer /

 Wakisaka car retied after 83 laps.

 The LFAs returned in 2012.
