TOYOTA GT-ONE

( Raced at Le Mans 1998 in GT1 and 1999 as reclassified

GTP class car )

ENGINE : TOYOTA V8 3578 cc Twin Garrett turbo

POWER :

TOP SPEED :

Probably THE most controversial `GT` car ever to race in

terms of classifying what was really a racing sports prototype

running in the GT class against cars that were actually in some

sort of production for the public to buy.

TOYOTA SUPRA BI-TURBO ( Pelsi Racing Team )

( Raced in French GT 2001- 08 )

ENGINE : TOYOTA 6 Cylinder 3000 cc Twin Garrett turbo

POWER :

TOP SPEED :

The one car that SHOULD have graced the British GT and is

perhaps best remembered as Paul Walker`s modified ride in

the popular `The Fast and the Furious` film of 2001 where he

street races a Bomex-bodied 1994 model.

In France this car was a regualar in their national GT series

thanks to PELSI Racing , the name derived from its founding

drivers PELlegrini + SIgnoret. With at least 46 starts ( see

table ) its perhaps suprising it didnt do better than a best

finish of 11th. Origionally quite stock looking in blue and white

the car returned in 2006 in red and white with some mods.

With 2 other drivers the car raced against the British GT2

runners when the 2 series combined for the Magny Cours race

in 2006.

As a seperate project to the 4 Supras racing in the All Japan GT

in 1995 the factory built 4 endurance racers for Le Mans. These

used the old IMSA GTP Turbo engine and suspension parts from

the old TS010 Group C car. The project was modest in terms of

size after investing so much in trying to win LeMans the previous

few years. The late Jeff Krosnoff , Mauro Martini and Marco

Apicella qualified the sole car , chassis 4 , in a modest 30th at

LeMans , 21st in GT1 out of a superb 27 class entry. Entered by

SARD Racing with factory support. A Team Trust chassis had

been entered too but didnt appear. The crew brought the car

home in 14th , 8th in class. Two
